Chicago!

D. Here-

So I had another interview this weekend with Karnes Prickett design. What an awesome place that was! There designs are amazing. They look at every little detail and even took the time to match the staples to the companies colors on a brochure. I didn't think I'd find a job that felt so right to me as that one. I used to have the mindset that a job is a job and I should take it when given to me, but I truly fell in love with the firm. The building is very cool, with some awesome architecture. I'd be one of three to four designers if I got the job there. I'd be able to do all types of design. Not just web! That's so cool! Cat explored the downtown and man is it nice. It's in Glyn Ellen, this wealthy ADORABLE area outside of chicago. It'd be so much nicer living outside than in the city but still close enough to enjoy it. I really hope I get this job and they think I'm the right fit.

The nine hour st. louis road trip. Woof.

What a trek! It was 4.5 hours there and 4.5 hours back. Despite being rainy, and long, and tiring we had a blast! Fleishman Hillard is an amazing company with a lot of pride in itself and for good reason! I met a couple people that have been with the company for twenty years! Goodness! I hope the company I work for is exciting enough to be with for that long! I think things went well in the interviews and I hope I get the job. I was on the twentieth floor...and then down to the seventeenth.. and then back up and down. That place was huge!!! Get this! The designers get a PC AND a Mac. And they're already upgrading to CS3 (the latest design software package)! I'd be one of two designers. That blows my mind. How cool would that be??? Here's hoping things go well but even if I don't get the job what an awesome oportunity it was to gain experience in interviews! I think my first one went well!

Exhausted but happy and ready for more!

The Job Search

David here!

As many of you know Cat and I are both looking for design jobs for after we get married. Well I may have found one! :-D I sent in my resume to Fleishman and Hillard, and international PR company out of St. Louis, and they wanted an interview ASAP so two days laters (tommorow aka Wednesday the 2nd), Cat and I are driving to St. Louis for an interview! That's gonna be a trek! If I get the job then I'll start ASAP as well which means we'd be living there by the middle of June! GOOD GRIEF! We can handle it though. Just a lot to take in. Ugh. At least we'd live near Betsy and David (my sister and brother-in-law). That'd be awesome! I really am hoping and praying that I get this job. They have good benefits, and sound like good people and this would just be an awesome opportunity for us. Wow! Well. Here goes!!!
